10 Uses for Coffee Grounds That Can Be Very Useful

Don’t throw away coffee grounds: they can be used in many ways and are useful in many situations at home, in the garden or in the kitchen.

Coffee grounds cannot be reused to prepare another drink, but once used, they can definitely be recycled. Below, we suggest some uses.

Exfoliants

The rough texture of coffee grounds can be used to make a skin scrub. Mix 40 grams of coffee grounds with 80 grams of sugar and 50 ml of coconut oil. Apply to damp skin, then rinse.

Plant

Adding coffee grounds to the soil of plants helps regulate pH (acidity), increase nitrogen and aerate the soil. They are particularly useful for tomatoes.

Eliminate bad smells from the refrigerator

Coffee grounds can help us absorb and eliminate bad smells from the refrigerator. Remember to change them every day to prevent mold growth.

Melt ice

If you live in a very cold place, you will surely be happy to know that by pouring your coffee grounds on the ice that forms in the garden or on the paths, you can accelerate its melting and add more traction under your feet. Don’t forget to clean your shoes before entering the house.

You worked with paper

Soaking a few sheets of watercolor paper in a solution of water and coffee grounds gives an “old” look, the classic sepia effect.
